Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART)

The Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation (JMMF) has partnered with Alberta Health Services to deliver a new program! The Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART) is a collaboration between AHS and JMMF to provide specialized 24/7 support to AHS patients experiencing domestic violence. DART, which launched in December 2021, will serve Westlock, Barrhead, and Fort Saskatchewan.

In this partnership, healthcare providers employ a domestic violence screening tool to identify the presence of violence. When a concern is identified, DART will connect the individual to JMMF for support in person and over the phone. DART strives to provide early intervention, preventing further injury and providing improved access to supports.
