Did you know that we are an all-gender shelter?

We serve all individuals who need our help, regardless of age or gender.

While the majority of our clients are women and children, we have supported 9 men and their children in the last 6 months alone. Between 2014 and 2019, 279,000 Canadian men experienced spousal violence (2019 General Social Survey (GSS) on Canadians’ Safety). Transgender people are almost twice as likely to report ever experiencing intimate partner violence, compared to the average rate experienced by cis-gender women and men. (Allen and Perreault, 2015)

Intimate partner violence can happen to anyone from any background. At Jessie’s House, We Hear You Too, and we are here to help with educational programming, safety planning, child care programming, and providing hope, all through a trauma-informed lens.
