As a salon professional, you have an extraordinary gift to give clients
experiencing abuse.
Most people who experience abuse never call the police or go to a shelter; however they do usually talk about the abuse with someone they trust. As a skilled and experienced listener, you have developed trust with your clients. You can learn to recognize abuse and be and effective support.
Give hope, support and help save lives. Obtain the the education, awareness and skills you need to safely refer clients to community resources.
Make It Our Business
Make It Our Business allows organizations of all sizes to build skill, knowledge and confidence to address domestic violence in the workplace. The program provides comprehensive engagement through four levels of awareness, education and training. Yo uwill learn to:
-RECOGNIZE the impact on family, friends, co-workers and the workplace environment.
-RESPOND effectively and REPORT appropriately using options consistent with various levels of workplace responsibility.
-REFER family, friends and coworkers to community resources when domestic violence has been identified or is suspected.
